Several members have voiced their disapproval over the Mac Pro's exclusion of Front Row and Photo Booth. However, Jobs did say that 10.5 would include "the complete package." He then went on to say that Boot Camp, Front Row, and Photo Booth would be included in the OS. So my question is this: How will one use Front Row on the new Mac Pro?

Just returned from Best Buy after I went to their Nation wide sales event, and they haven't recived any for over 1 1/2 weeks. They are selling reservations for future stock, for $100.00. What a load of s__t. If they had said that they didn't have any, and they were just tring to see how many customers would show up to put down a $100.00 deposit, with no est. of time of when you would recive your order. Thats wrong. At $4.50 a gallon of gas, I can't keep going down to see if they have any.

Number One checking in! Seriously, I started the first "Post Your Mac Setup" thread.

It still boggles my mind that this has made it to 13 parts and is still going strong! *knock on wood* I hope it never ends!

I just sold my MacBook Pro but once my iMac arrives I will take photos of my setup for everyone. It's definitely changed a lot since then, lol.

Plus, everyone else's photos are making me super envious!

    :apple:

If this works out and a Beatles iPod does come out with a commercial alongside I can almost guarantee you the song will be Revolution.

As someone said earlier... Come Together. That's my bet.

The 2.0 model also includes 4MB L2 cache instead of "just" 2MB L2 cache... remember the days when we used to measure L2 in increments of 256KB?

No, I can't actually. I'm typing this on a dual 533MHz G4 with 1MB L2 cache per processor - so 2MB total. Same as the Core Duo!

Who cares about Flash? Most of the time it's used, it's because the web designers are too dumb or lazy to get the page right without it, because they haven't kept out with what a modern browser is capable of.

So this fall, we can expect from Apple...

    A Retina Display iPad 3

    An A5 powered iPod

    and an...

A5 powered iPhone 5 with a 4" screen, 4g, better voice controls, cloud storage and drag and drop support.

Basically, every single thing on this list is about to come true...

    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1021233

I could live with that. Apple is going to DOMINATE this Christmas. :)

Except for the fact that Apple is not about to release an iPad 3 this year. They have absolutely no reason to.

June: Preview Lion and iOS 5.

    July/August: Release Lion.

    June-Sept: Updated iMacs.

    Sept: Updated iPods.

    Sept/Oct(even Jan): iPhone 5.

    Spring 2012: iPad 3.

You really expect them to squeeze a new iPad into the fall. If anything you will see another Air update.

Unfortunately, I don't think the silent majority of drones who use the facebook app care about the approval process. All that matters to them is that they get their facebook.

So let's say facebook were to pull the app in protest, or development stalls indefinitely. Who'd get blamed by the population as a whole? Facebook or Apple?

Does this fix the lack of opening animation of 3rd party apps that was present in 4.3?

The things you mention here are exactly the things i've seen too. To be honest, it frustrates me to see men behave like that. They should send those guys to boot cam, to let them get back some of their balls.

Men who are in control of women just don't have balls. I think things are going the opposite way. Like women are in revenge for the years they've been in control of men. ANYTHING against women has become social unacceptable, but i think things are going a bit too far now. But hmm, it's probably just a 'trend'...:)

Yeah I agree... both parties should be able to buy things that they WANT, like if she can buy Louis Vutton bags for herself, (just an example) which doesn't benefit the man, he should be able to buy his MacBook Pro or iPad 2 or whatever HE WANTS as well...which doesn't benefit her directly either...

Fair is Fair right.. this being nice to women thing in our society is going WAY to far...

Why is he blaming it on us? Its "ultimate"ly his decision to use and post what information was given to him. He's the one that needs to decipher between good and bad tips. Not to just take anything anyone says as fact and then publish on his website.

In other words, it is perfectly natural for a believer to think that people are inherently bad. Quite a fine starting point, that. Life itself is continual penitence for something you had no part in. Only by praying, tithing and doing "god's work" can you overcome the hideous burden of your ancestry.

For many Christians, doing "god's work," praying, and tithing doesn't do jack squat if you don't accept Jesus as your personal savior.

I figured it would sell out quick...I tried to get approval from my boss this morning, and even said it would sell out in a day or two to rush the decision...unfortunately, I should have said hour or two!

Wow, that was fast. At this rate, next year should sell out within an hour. I think if you wanted to go, you needed to get your bosses approval before it was announced.

The second quote is my response to the first.

But there are larger venues available, so it is certainly possible to limit the number of attendees by choosing a venue that is too small.

Ok, but they are only utilizing Moscone West. Why not rent West and North, South or all three. That would allow them to expand without moving.

But then Apple would lose the hype value of being able to say "sold out in N hours".

Apple is a marketing company above all else.

Next Year is going to suck for buying tickets.

If we went from 8 days to 12 hours what will next year be like?

Next year the WWDC will be in a Holiday Inn in Millbrae (SF airport), because all of the city will be booked for the ADC (Android Developers' Conference). ;)

So why not fit the Proven iPhone4 camers in the iPad then?
The cost had been ramped down due to the camera being out virtually a year, so it's all done and dusted and just needed fitting.
Price wise about $5 dollars more.

I can't see any real reason to hold it back apart from a deliberate ploy to fit something bad to give people a strong reason to upgrade to iPad3.

Unless there are negatives in doing so, Price, Weight etc? Why deliberately fit something bad?

The negatives in doing so are Steve Jobs' and Johnny Ive's egos.

Stuffing the Iphone4 camera into the Ipad2 would have required them to increase the overall depth of the unit to accommodate it. Then again with the laughably piss poor camera app implementation on the Ipad it's a wonder anyone wants to take photo stills with it at all. Hold it lengthwise (which seems to be the natural position that everyone tries to hold it in every review, and should be the natural position since it's widescreen) and the UI rotates to the bottom, meaning there's no way to touch the "capture" button without letting go of it with one hand.

Ok, but they are only utilizing Moscone West. Why not rent West and North, South or all three.

Moscone North and South were already reserved for trade shows much bigger than WWDC more than a year in advance. It's all about the total number of attendees, and these big trade shows bring in an order of magnitude more people spending money in SF than either WWDC or Google IO.

Never mind. Those big trade shows are two weeks before and after WWDC.

Toys R Us? Seriously? What a bizzarre place to buy a tablet PC. I guess we'll be seeing them with the Fisher Price laptops.
I think it's more odd that Toys R Us wants it. It's so far off their normal product type, but it could be that Toys R Us is looking for new segments to open

You're right, it is, they usually stick to HP, ASUS and Toshiba Laptops :

    http://www.toysrus.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=3634444

Did you even bother to look up what Toys r' Us sells before making that comment ? This isn't a "new segment to open".

in order to try and save their business????

Why is every business but Apple struggling and looking to save themselves ? Why is it everytime a company other than Apple is mentionned around this forum, it has to be close to bankruptcy and desperate to generate revenue and relevency ?

News flash, a lot of businesses aren't struggling at all, even if they aren't associated with Apple.
