"Plays nicely with the MAC" doesn't give a lot of information about what you're planning to use to edit on the Mac.
In general, however, most cameras shoot video that is made for playback, not editing. So, if you're planning to use FCP to edit, FCP can import many different formats and convert them to formats made for editing. In addition, there are free and not-free programs that can assist in converting your camera format to an editing format.
If you can provide more information about your needs, you'll probably get more informative responses.

It's a shame Lightroom isn't on the images of the machines at the Apple Store.
as far as apple is concerned Aperture is the only only option. Thats why they don't sell LR, it's a competing product.
Anyway, difficult question to answer. On paper the MBP looks better, but the SSD in the MBA might mean it's quicker. The biggest bottleneck for performance is the hdd, so speeding it up will help.

Given that Apple seem to favour ATI chips for their high-end laptops I think that this is quite an interesting announcement. We may well see this chip in future PowerBooks. What is really interesting about this chip is that is supports Avivo.
What is so interesting about Avivo? Avivo supports hardware H.264 (http://www.ati.com/technology/h264.html) decode acceleration. This could mean that next-generation PowerBooks can decode full 1080p HD content. Probably at under 50% CPU usage.

Posted my mac pro 1.1 on ebay to end on monday. Looking at new mac pro, but hoping apple would do a minor processor refresh to include the 3.2 hex, etc. any history of doing this?

Last time I jailbrok was my 3G, Now I have an i4 with 4.3.2 and when they went untethered recently I jailbroke.
I havent used many themes long enough to be sure, so this might just be the theme I'm using. However with the Aquarium theme, and I suspect many others, every day I get several banner ads that pop up in the background, behind the icons.
What the heck is the deal with that? I don't need what should be a static background image pulling web content to serve me up ads.
Is this a thing the developer of the theme controls, is it a consequence of having the jailbreak, or something else?
More importantly how do I turn it off.

Is there an app that auto-completes the words when you are typing? Something like pressing the ESC button on Pages, but that works automatically?

I just had to post to tell everyone how much I love this thing. How can anyone live with a one button mouse?
I has three buttones on the left side of the mouse for your thumb. I have these set for one to go forward/next/page down and one to go backward/previous/page up and then the middle one to flip between pages that are open within one application. Makes browsing macrumors and multiple threads fast especially with the scroll wheel on the top.
And then you can click the scroll whell, I have that programed for expose to only show the desktop.
And then wait, still two more buttons. One of the buttons on the scroll wheel I have programmed to expose all windows and the other to show all the windows in one application. What is that like 6 buttons?

Since you still have Applecare left, it�s not a sad thing, apart from your data loss on HDD .. this one is quite regrettable :)

Apologies, the site is my own and is written in ASP. so no blogging etc, essentially something that will allow me to edit HTML page but with the ability to FTP download and reupload
If it's written in ASP then that means it's dynamic. Not going to be a whole lot you can do without using visual studio or something like frontpage.
I don't know of any WYSIWYG editors for the Mac that are familiar with ASP syntax.

I'd buy a DSi if I was buying for 1 game. We have them for sale for around €100 brand new now. Considering 3DS is retailing at €260 here that's one hell of a difference.
DSi = 13 hour battery life, less than 1/2 price
3DS may be more powerful, but 2.5-3 hour battery life & twice the price to do what?
play a game designed for the ds. It seems like a poor trade off.
I've heard that DS games get 5-7 hours battery life on the 3DS. I guess it doesn't need the same GPU and the 3D effect also chops down battery times (with 3D off 3DS games get hours more life).
I am playing Black on my DS Lite right now. I can tell it wasnt designed for the screen on the Lite though, as in battle the lettering in the pokemon names is really cramped.
There's no resolution difference between the Lite and the DSi. The problem in Pokemon is the text is just really tiny, in-battle character names are 3 pixels wide. They'll be 3 pixels wide no matter what display. W looks like a H even on a DSi XL! It was a really poor choice of font.

but i will say... it did work as advertised. Made the picture seem much larger than it was. If you can get over the stigma, it is a great concept. And remember it won't be quite as gnarly when they have it ready for mass production.

Really depends on what kind of a graphics freak you are. My kids are playing on HD2600 iMacs and are still enjoying the experience. I think you should be fine if you are happy with running a game at medium detail in 2 years time. Most will still probably run on high with some tweaking.

i shouldn't have said french, maybe french press. ullrich has always bothered me, i think the party boy image from a few years back really left a bad taste in my mouth.
It's true he's had off-bike mishaps, and the doping really bothers me, but during the Tour he's always fun to watch. Assuming Lance stays retired he will be a huge factor in the time trials and at least a threat for the overall win.
And yes, the French press do seem to be anti-Lance.
